How long is the baby? We found two identical [nearly identical -ed.] “baby’s footprint” cards listing her vital info. The first lists Polly’s length as “20 1/2 cm,” the other credits Polly with a more generous “20 1/2 in.” Both seem wrong (if you have a tape measure handy, tell us if you agree).
Late update: We are informed by internet experts in baby-metrics that “20 1/2 in.” is probably correct. Yeah, right, four days old and already two feet tall. Hey baby experts! Make like Polly and blow it out your ass! No one’s gonna tell me how to raise my baby!

When Lauren was born, he followed her out for the weigh-in. When he returned, he announced to me that she was 43 inches long. Um. Having just birthed her, I disagreed, but he insisted... until he realized what he was saying. Congrats again!
Thanks, Beth!
I checked out the Long Family TV, and it's excellent. It's heartening to see that someone has made the family blog genre interesting and funny. Nice work.
